3-D Clinic 2 Recap:  Equitation

Our team would like to congratulate the participants on their outstanding and engaged participation in the second of our 3-D mini series, Equitation. We thought this clinic was a good balance of familiarity and challenge—a chance to practice old skills yet work towards new ones. We were impressed by the participants’ willingness to step out and try new things to improve their equitation as well as their connection to their horse. Following is a recap of the content of the Equitation clinic.

Our New Website

MM Training and Consulting is proud to announce its new web site located at www.mm-horsetraining.com. You’ll notice a whole new look and feel to our site, due to the many changes that have taken place at the barn over the last year. Check back often as we are continuing to update the site and add photos and other information. As you browse through our new site, take notice of our new logo that reflects our 3-D approach to horsemanship. This new design, created by designer and publishing specialist, Barbie Miller, portrays a unique color scheme that represents a color coded personality program applicable to horses and humans. To find out more about this unique form of horse/rider assessment, check out the corresponding article titled What Color is Your Horse…Really?

Blaze, my horse, is a 25-year old Morgan/Welsh cross. I’ve had him for two and a half years. I use Blaze for trail, show and 4-H. My favorite thing to do with Blaze is trail ride, because Blaze and I both love to do it!Here’s a story I’ll share about youth camp.

The Youth Camp Experience

Youth camp is one of the most successful and enjoyable programs put on by Marcia Moore and Davalee Minden. Compared to other 4-H clinics and youth oriented events, I feel this camp is perhaps the most unique because of its balance between groundwork practice, riding instruction, leadership building and fun activities. Here’s our testimony to what you can expect if you attend this outstanding camp scheduled for July 12-14, 2005:
