Fit for a Queen

The Belgin/Thoroughbred mare has been Alyssa’s partner for the last three years. The pair excels in English classes where Queenie’s athleticism and big stride are best showcased, but they also compete in showmanship, western events and Omoksees.

“I may eventually move up to a higher level of competition, but the Versatility Buckle Award competition was pretty stiff competition at the local level,” Alyssa said. “It also was a lot of fun!” At nearly 18, Alyssa is at a place in her life to make some important decisions. She has decided to sell seven-year old Queenie and purchase her coach’s AQHA gelding to focus more on all western disciplines and be more competitive in Omoksees. She also plans to become a professional horse trainer and may attend horse training school.
